future RLCA sneak peek:

Lowers the car in the rear by dropping the rear coilover lower mounting point 25-40mm depending on which bolt hole you use. (thats the major challenge on FRS/BRZ)

~ Please note the OEM nuts cant be used with slip on spacers, the last few mm of the nut has no threads, and slipping on a spacer to the OEM studs does not leave much thread either so upgrade the nuts when you use spacers.

Hey guys! Just curious about the lug nut thing. I plan on getting some spacers (I'll call you soon about this, Dan). My thought is to get one full kit (pair) and use at least the 15mm bolt-on for the rear and whichever of the slip-on spacers will work in front with the stock studs. I'm not using stock lug nuts, they're Project Kics. What about the shape of the stock nuts was an issue? Is it that the taper doesn't reach far enough down the hole to grab more threads?

I'd be fine rockin your nuts if mine won't do the trick. Hehe.

These be my nuts:

Thanks

The stock nuts and maybe some others are not fully threaded to the end of the taper point. Even our nuts are chamfered on the inside diameter near the end which kills one thread but makes it easy to start catching the threads on the stud. Basically no matter the nut, count the turns after the nut engages, you should have 5 turns or more if they are aluminum nuts. If you start with the 15mm, there is no problem with small stud length but you do need to check the tightness of the bolt on spacer after driving on them.

Thanks, Dan. I need to measure again. I might even do a 15mm for the front anyway.
