lu_e think you could post the pic on here that you posted on club 4ag? the one of the torn shock tower, just to give everyone an idea as to why you guys dont like the coil over system..

Whoa there I never posted the described picture.

I'm pretty sure you're talking about what ryceboy_124 posted; http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=85402&postid=814317#814317

& I don't like the looks of that bolt? but what do I know... on second thought how is that damper control coming through? did it just pop through during the accident or was there a HOLE DRILLED? this would make a HUGE difference. I'm just not sure what's going on there.

I'm not exactly totally opposed to the design... more not sure

Sounds ridiculous to me.

Super AE86 update!

We have finished the design and testing of the AE86 coilovers!

~ 8 and 6 KG springs F/R
~ True coil over damper rear conversion
~ Weld on connection to front spindle
~ Weld in rear upper mounts w/ Spherical bearing housing
~ Stock arrives in March
~ Pre-order your Competition version pictured below for just $1000 today!
~ Also available in PRO version with comp features plus CASTER adjustable front upper mount, spherical bearing rear lower mount and Super Light Linear Springs for $1350

~ More AE86 Multilink, Chassis and Steering parts coming soon = )

I would like to thank Ryan Literal for being our ginuea pig...

...and also for handling track testing duty.

Camber adjustable top plate (pictured without damper adjuster installed)

Front Coilovers welded to OEM spindle:

In the back we changed the car to a true coil-over-damper instead of using the OEM style separated spring and damper.
This means you will have the ultimate selection of springs available to you and you will have more ride height adjustability.
Rear Coilovers installed:

We took some Ground Control/Eibach/AGX coil over dampers off this car and the spacer they used for the top of the spring killed 3 inches of shock travel. This is our solution:

These Spring top hats completely separate the pillowball motion from the spring action, and with our cylindrical design, the damper body can actually pass through and above the spring giving unrestricted stroke.

Dont blame us for the inconsistent roll cage welds, that was there already!
Next pic is the rear upper mount and pillowball housing welded into the car (damper adjuster not installed)
This gets rid of the old rubber bushing upper mounts that rob the feel and response of the rear suspension.

This is our solution for the rear lower mount, the car came to us with the OEM tab bent down, and we fortified it with a triangle gusset against the 4 link bracket.

At this cars ride height, the upper rods on the 4 link were binding so we recommend moving the mount up through the rear seat floor to correct the rods angle, improve roll center and prevent binding.

The diff was laying on the bump stop that was mounted between the 2 holes in the bare space in this pic:

So to gain rear suspension travel, we trimmed the rubber stop with an air saw.

Now we are ready for ride hight and handling bliss!

With the new found traction, Ryan can throw his hachi-roku around harder than ever without ever lifting off the throttle!
Good job keeping up with Ross Petty!
