Every time I think of automatic drifting my memory automatically pictures the Bubba drift el-camino from like 05. This looks cooler.

Got the V6 sit in permanently in the bay including the gearbox mounting fabricated! There's no modification for the engine mounting brackets nor crossmember! Instead tremendous firewall hacking! I still retain the factory V6 oil sump which is behind the crossmember! Trying to concerntrate on the engine weight orientation (middle)!!
Now another difficult road block, steering column & rack!!!
will go either wilwood or tilton type pedals for brake & clutch!
I'm goin all out!!!!! for the damn VG running!!!

I had a z32 and know almost everything there is to know about them. It might be further back than the sr20 but it weighs about twice as much so you might suffer from a lot of understeer. Tuned VG30 with stock turbos you get about 350HP and a little bit more of torque. SR20 you can get about 300HP from a tuned disco potato but it weighs like 300lbs less. They are both reliable engines but there might be a reason why nobody that drifts does this swap. Just dont get rid of your sr20 just yet.

Thanks Rafa for the tips, I'll take serious consideration for the SR, its a dang good engine for sure!

As for the VG, its kinda like a missle type car & go stupid with it! VG into SX are something bothering in my brain for a long time coz all the while i've maintain few customer z32 cars with good easy power result!!

Kinda close up shot!!!

Updated pic for comparison!

I managed to borrow a weighing platform from my working company for my engine weight comparison & now it got really interesting! The weighing platform are calibrated bi-yearly, so i assume its quite accurate! Measurement in Kgs

I did all the weighing for the engine with gearbox on, including all the accessories:- clutch, turbos & bla bla bla!
But its DRY weighted! No fluid & A/C Compressor!

Will it be worth the extra kilos for the V6?? Considering those beefy z32 gearbox, 3liter of strong iron block, shorter engine & further back compare to SR!!!???!!
HHhmmmm.... gotta Get it done & test it out, is the answer!

I've seen this swap before but it was on a drag car so the weight didn't bother him. But I'm interested also to see how it will perform in a drift 240sx

Since its not easy to acquire a weighing platform, i took this opportunity to weight a 1J aswell!! & it kinda shocked me!! This lump of steel are not light at all! Consider some who transplanted a 1J into SX with those frontal inline 6 weight, it got me wondering!!!
In the pic are weighted without fluid + auto box, stock twin turbo & etc!

For u guys reference, i got a hold of an 1J manual box & DAMN....its kinda heavy aswell, without clucth assy!!!
Not sure bout the 1J auto box weight, but when i lifted both boxes with a cherry picker, it felt kinda same!
