now since about march of '11, i've been calculating and experimenting with different coilovers for the mkiii supra. reason for this: there's no coilover there that i was really happy with... stance coilovers clunks, teins were to high, ksports were to soft, Megan's didnt go low enough. any other coilover was pretty much just a restamped coilover or an alteration. So i took my numbers with dan, the shop owner. told him what was needed for it to bolt up, after the 2 months wait from japan, we got the first set done. everything bolted on like a glove. the only issue was that i couldn't go lower in the rear, the bottom mount and damper was too long. in order for me to go lower, was to remove collars or to remove the secondary top perch. i didnt want to remove the second perch though because that would defeat the purpose of the pillow ball mount. So with the rough start on this set, we made adjustments and made a new model...
the new coilovers utilizes shorter rear dampers and shorter bottom mounts so people can really slam their supras. the goal for these coilovers is to get lower than any other coilover can offer without harming the preload, and a dampening system with the correct valving and quality you can trust.
Now being this low brings upon other issues. like extremely bent up suspension arms, and for me, hitting my axles against my subframe. As a result you can anticipate good parts coming in, such as adjustable suspension arms, sub frame riser bushings, and a steering knuckle mod.
I think the right solution for the next Supra parts may be adjustable arms. Ant, you should do custom subframe rising by filling the OEM bushing and cutting its inner sleeve, and that will take care of the interferences. We could make a custom aluminum solid subframe bushing later but I need to explore this market a little first to see if its worth it.
The knuckle mod is no problem for $200, pretty similar to the SC kako knuckle service we offer.
Me and others supra owners are in serious need of some kind of adjustable arms for the mk3 especially for the rear arms. The are tons of people drifting, stance autocrossing mks on the supraforums id say there's a decent market out there
battle version has already covered the rear camber arms and traction rods. so far ive just been running cut toe rods made shorter along with the BV arms.
Its still listed on their website, though i don't know the word. I do know they just did a group buy for front upper and rear upper control arms. not even sure if they will continue making them after the group buy is done. (GB is closed but pending shipment)
either way if they make/sell them or not, battle version is what i was referring to. check out: battleversion.com they have the arms there, or driftmotion.com
I'm willing to take a risk every once in a while, and at least the news of our endeavors with the MkIII a70 supra has been making the phone ring. They ask IS IT TRUE... lol its true we will actually stock parts and make some original items for this supra, and im glad you guys are pumped because the supply cant be there without the demand.
