the 240 game is turning into supras real quick. it seems like its not really about the build but how much money you are spending. No one really cares about good fitting wheels or making wheels fit good, but what brand of wheels you got and how much you spent for them. People are now hating on sportmaxxxx wheels even though these same people were soo fucking fanboy about them a year and half to two years ago. WTF happend? Cusco cages used to be the talk of the town, but now they are getting bagged on even though like half the japanese d1 drivers use them! its like, you can't have it both ways.
naw the majority of the drifter scene is budget but no matter what you have, everyone knows whats baller and wishes they had it and some graduate to more expensive stuff as time and money permits. I was making a point in the previous post about what you are getting for your money coilovers or coilovers, ads, and funding the pros.
I would like to think most of our customers are capable of making intelligent buying decisions & they know the drill with overpriced goods.
I think you should come out with a "baller" set of coilovers that are just as good as the tsuiso coilovers but just marked up anyways, I know people would buy it!
i 2nd the swift CO's. how ever i do have a buddy i with a ae86 and keeps on asking me if you guys are ever going to come out with some pbm co's. i think some ingraving on the brake like bracket with make it well i dont want to use this fraze but "pimpin" and make it the same color as the strut. i think make be making a top hat that only has camber would be nice too.
Have you seen the thread on Zilvia about the damping of the coils?
It seems that a little too much compression damping and not quite enough rebound is making the damper "pack-down" under bumpy conditions, leading to the stiff feeling that everyone talks about.
If you re-damp the coils with a little less compression and a little more rebound (I think that's right) then I think they'll ride a lot better.
Oh, I say keep the aluminum lower mounts, they differentiate your coils from the knock-off cheapo brands.
I say design 3* of camber into the lower mounts. This is about perfect for grip guys, while allowing us wheel fitment guys to dial in more with the top mounts if necessary.
